Growth IN RELATIONSHIPS

February 4, 2021

Nearing the one-year anniversary of Tomaso’s Last Breath shines a light on what I learned in that relationship and what I could have learned or still have to learn.

I have friends with many people and my goal with these relationships is to honor truth as we dwell on this path of liberation.

Often relationships are rooted in the first three energy systems of the human body, which is survival, survival of the ego, survival of the species, for instance. Many nowadays are looking to rise above the survival components of a relationship in order to be a living truth reflected from one to the other. Knowing one or the other of us is going to leave and die puts a hindrance on the relationship to abide in a fearless state of being.

Our relationships are a mirror in to where we cling, what we are attracted to and can’t let go of. Another way of saying this is, am I relating to you in a body or as a soul in spirit? If all I see is my mind reflected in your mind, I am on a constant Merry Go Round of a kaleidoscope of change. This fear separates us from the people and person we truly love.

In our love for others, we acknowledge their suffering but must not become their suffering or be responsible for it. When another heart closest down, it is my responsibility to remain open in a spirit of love. This is true for all those we meet even momentarily, for in that one moment, we have forged a relationship with them, if only briefly.

A true (as in truth) relationship is a dying moment to moment to the person I used to be in the past. An old fear. An old knee-jerk reaction. An anger born of every injustice in the world.

Let it go. Let God. Om
