REMOVING OBSTACLES

February 5, 2021

The obstacle all humans have in common is the one obstructing our oneness with the Divine. Daily spiritual practice helps us to feel our oneness with the Universe, thus obstacles fall away, until the next one arises.

Allowing the unseen forces guide the process of clearing the path to realization is a focus of concentration in this life. As for me, I practice several meditation strategies everyday.

Hanuman, the Monkey God, is the removal of all obstacles. He is called Sankat Mochan, the destroyer of afflictions, calamities and sufferings. This is why I listen and chant the 40 verses of the Honaman Chalisa every day, as part of my daily spirit bread. It gives me inner strength to change the perspective that keeps me stuck in any given moment.

Learning and chanting the Hanuman Chalisa takes commitment, as do other practices we are drawn to. Chanting the Hanuman Chalisa energizes the destruction of obstacles to our realizing the full embodiment, form and formlessness, of God.

Removing the obstacles to God realization: in reality, this is the only lesson we ever have to learn. Yes, challenges arise, for this is Earth School. Our practices give us the strength to live through the difficulties.

It’s been said Hanuman is a manifestation of our prana, the life force. By chanting the Hanuman Chalisa, we change our faith, like a sculpture removing stone to reveal the life behind the stone, breathing prana into the art form.

We are the art form. We are floating down the river of life. Big rocks ahead are not visible as we flow with the tidal forces. But doing practices and prayers like the Hanuman Chalisa can remove the rocks even if we are not aware of the potential to harm.

Devotional practices develop a faith regarding the relationship we can have with the Divine. We stand tall in our courage, as our heart is softened.

Keep the faith. OM
