After Tomaso had his first heart attack in early 1990's, I went on a mission to clean up our lives. I studied macrobiotic cooking, and prepared meals in that genre. One day, after a macrobiotic cooking class, given at a local bookstore, I came upon a brochure advertising another class, simply called “Healing With Love,” featuring an OB/GYN physician from San Francisco. His name is Leonard Laskow. As “A Course In Miracles”student since the early 1980’s, the title of the class awakened the possibility that Love would heal our lives, in particular, Tomaso’s heart. I imagined a mutual opening of our spiritual heart, the fourth spiritual chakra, the color green like the beautiful earth beneath our feet.

Leonard Laskow became Tomaso’s spiritual teacher, and mine. Tomaso completed a certification with Leonard called Holoenergetic Healing, over the span of several years. Leonard came to our home and taught a preliminary class to a group of earnest seekers. Before each session, the group meditated in our living room. We made a fresh pot of Tulsi Tea, otherwise known as Holy Basil, for each precious moment we spent together.

Our lives are measured by the bonds we make, the hearts we touch, the love that ends all separation. Eventually, Tomaso began studying with Will Johnson, a Buddhist meditation teacher. Will now conducts spiritual retreats on Zoom. I’ve taken several, so far and will be partaking in a full year retreat in 2021.

Meditation is my medication. The outer world has become too much to bear. 2021 will be a time of inward adventure, the last frontier of a well lived life. OM
