We started the year-long spiritual retreat on January 23, 2021. One thing I immediately noticed is the connection to “A Course In Miracles” I am concurrently studying, especially pertaining to “ego.”
As the ego releases its strong hold on our perception, the primal contraction, as Will Johnson calls it, is also released, and coupled with the embodied meditation process that Will teaches, loosens the hold of the ego naturally on our lives. The ego may rebel when we take steps to be free.
The ego need to control, fix, strive relentlessly to be number one in all endeavors, is just a sampling of how the ego works in society and personally. This thought system keeps us rigid and fearful. The miracle represented in ACIM (A Course In Miracles) is a shift from fear to love. Will teaches sitting meditation as a “mudra of transformation.” How tall can I be, how relaxed can I be? How can the body be aligned, relaxed and resilient at the same time?
Be like a seahorse, floating yet eternally erect and in tune with the elements. The spine is the source of our strengthening in this and all challenges we undertake.
We have been taught to look at meaning in our lives in the context of ego goals. But we are not our ego, and when we think in terms of only the ego, we are false identifying. That’s why so many find their lives to be meaningless. The outside world becomes a reflection of this false identification with the ego. The separation of self with earth and all living, breathing things is the focus of most people.
I hereby release the meaning I have previously given to people, places and things and allow the Divine to write the true meaning of my life.
Awareness of embodiment of body will instill enough relaxation to relax more and more into life itself, happiness itself, peace itself. OM
