Will To Live

December 2, 2020

As I write the words to this blog this morning, Pearl is stretched out beside me on the floor. I think of the healing powers of this dog, and all the dogs I’ve ever known. When we pay attention to the love our dogs and cats have for us, we are accessing the regenerative powers Divine Source has for all of us. The Divine Source is revealed the more we live with joyful spontaneity and are in tune to a purpose that fuels the will to live.

Our animals, as healers and guides, awaken us to the Divine Mystery, which at first is invisible. As we are guided, the invisible is made visible. Our mind drops ideas of how things should be. The animals teach how to detach from thoughts and preconceptions. Dropping judgments is the most important act we can do, yet in my estimation, the most difficult.

Judgment is neither good nor bad. But it is burdensome and humorless. When judgments arise, false beliefs are lurking and ready to be liberated. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. Freedom from judgment is a necessary part of the journey.

Our animal friends, guides, healers and companions are vehicles for this transformation. They are healers who teach us to heal. They are divine helpers who teach us to help. They are pure love that embodies the whole wide world.

If we are willing students, we can be pure love too, instead of a pain bodies riddled with scathing faultfinding.

Which direction would you rather go?

What have your companion animals taught you? OM
